Having worked 3+ years in Athletics and Recreational management, along with supporting outdoor sporting events
Montclair State University Department of Athletics and Recreation
As a Student Leader at Montclair State University’s Recreation Center, I’ve gained the experience of working in many sub-departments within the building, managing employees and organizing engaging events for students to enjoy and feel welcomed at.
Area Supervisor of Outdoor Adventure
As Area Supervisor for Outdoor Adventures, I oversaw all aspects of our off-campus trip program, from planning and logistics to staff training and guest experience. My responsibilities blended event operations, risk management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Trip Coordination: Organized and led 12–14 off-campus trips per semester, including water sports, hiking, festivals, and other outdoor activities. Collaborated with partner organizations to design safe, engaging experiences.
Staff Training & Management: Trained and supervised a staff of 50+ student employees. Created tailored training modules for each type of trip and managed scheduling to ensure proper coverage for all events.
Transportation Oversight: Managed campus vehicles used for trips, including scheduling, tracking, maintenance, fueling, and coordinating with other departments when multiple vehicles were needed.
Equipment & Inventory Management: Maintained all outdoor equipment (kayaks, paddleboards, tents, fire pits, sleeping bags, lawn games, etc.) and ensured readiness for each trip.
Communication: Sent weekly department emails, scheduled staff reminders, and maintained consistent communication to guarantee smooth event execution.
Guest Safety & Experience: Collected and reviewed participant health history forms, prepared trips in advance, and ensured safety protocols were in place to provide a positive and secure experience.
Trilogy Lacrosse- Field Marshall
As a Field Marshal for Trilogy Lacrosse tournaments, I was responsible for overseeing all operations on my assigned field during 12-hour game days. This role required strong organizational skills, game knowledge, and clear communication to ensure smooth and safe competition.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Setup & Operations: Prepared the field before each game by setting perimeter cones, placing lacrosse balls on end lines, and ensuring water stations were filled.
Game Management: Kept official score sheets, tracked timeouts and penalties, and maintained multiple timers to keep games on schedule.
Communication & Coordination: Served as the direct link between referees, teams, and the tournament headquarters tent—relaying critical information and ensuring schedules ran on time.
Rule Knowledge & Officiating Support: Applied knowledge of the game to assist referees with timing, penalties, and rule clarifications.
Player Safety & Field Control: Monitored hydration, maintained safe playing conditions, and de-escalated disputes between players, coaches, or officials when necessary.
Event Wrap-Up: Collected equipment, confirmed scores, and ensured fields were cleaned and reset for future use.
